This version of the Sweetcaster is more like the result of a challenge that I proposed to myself. I wanted to build a guitar that is as affordable as possible, without compromising too much on components and parts. It came out really well and I can offer it for a much lower course than some of the other instruments. And it turned out to weigh 3.5 kilos, which is a really good value for a guitar with these specs.
The basis of the #0008 is a nitro finished alder body in Olympic White, that only comes with a very slight aging. You can see some matte spots around the edges and some fine cracks in the top layer. It uses Nectite inserts & screws for the connection with the neck for improved sustain and tone.
The neck is a roasted maple C-profile with some slight flaming, probably B-grade, since it's only really visible from a certain angle. The fingerboard is rosewood with 22 medium jumbo frets and 9,5" radius. String action is very comfortable for that spec.
As far as pickups go, I went with Wilkinson Vintage 60's, which sound really balanced and especially the "in between" positions and the neck sound amazing, despite them being in the budget range. Electronics include Master Volume, Neck Tone, Middle & Bridge Tone and a 5-way pickup switch.
Plastic parts are slightly aged, but more in a way like a guitar would do that has recently started to show wear, dust and dirt around spots that are most used than others.
Hardware-wise, I went with Göldo parts this time, since they offer more affordable alternatives to the classic Gotoh vintage tremolo and the SD91 vintage style tuners, while coming with with similar specs, i.e. steel block, bent saddles etc. The guitar also features the Apollo Music Parts trem claw for improved sustain and stability.
